The original HighLevel MCP endpoint is included with your account and exposes about 36 named tools for calendars, contacts, conversations, opportunities and more. It reads records and acts on them, but it has no workflow tool at all, so it cannot build a workflow. It is where almost everyone should start.
| Maintainer | HighLevel |
|---|---|
| Cost | Included with your account |
| Licence | Nothing to licence, nothing to host, no third party in the middle. |
| Auth | Private Integration Token, one sub-account, plus a location header on every request. HighLevel describes this as one sub-account per connection. |
| Read, act, or build | Read and act. Not build. There is no workflow tool in the set at all. |
| Tools it claims | 36 named tools |
| Where it stops | At the second sub-account, and at anything that needs building rather than reading. |
An older HighLevel help article still documents an earlier, smaller tool set. It is stale.
Generate a Private Integration Token inside the sub-account you want to reach, ticking only the scopes it needs. Point your AI client at services.leadconnectorhq.com/mcp/ and send two headers: the token as Authorization and the location id as a location header.
The single most common failure is a client that cannot send a custom header. If your client only offers OAuth fields, a static token has nowhere to go. Try the v2 endpoint, which supports OAuth, or run a local bridge that holds the header for you.
Claude Code takes a header flag directly. Cursor and VS Code take a headers block in a JSON file, though the top level key differs between them (mcpServers versus servers), which is a frequent copy and paste slip.
This is a quick overview, not a full step by step. Full setup for the Real Wave server is on realwave.com/mcp-server.
At the second sub-account, and at anything that needs building rather than reading.
This is the ceiling every option on this list that reads and acts runs into, and it belongs to the API rather than to this one project. Where free stops sets out why, with five dated sources you can open yourself.
Every option on this page, checked the same way, with the date each one was last looked at. It moves: licences change, repositories go quiet, and HighLevel ships things that move the wall. Leave an address and the changes come to you, instead of you re-checking every one of them yourself.
One email when something here changes. Nothing else, ever.
One email per change, with an unsubscribe link in every one. Real Wave pays for this list, so the address sits in Real Wave's system and is used for exactly this.
